Kasba Ganpati Mandal Ganeshotsav 2026

Shri Kasba Ganpati is Pune's "Manacha Pahila Ganpati" — the first-honoured deity among the city's five Manache Ganpati — with an idol first worshipped by Jijabai, mother of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, around 1639. The Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal was founded here in 1893, the same year Bal Gangadhar Tilak used Ganesh processions to galvanise the freedom movement, making this the oldest public Ganpati festival procession in Pune. The 2026 edition marks its 133rd year, with the mandal decorated this year in reference to Ballaleshwar Ganpati of Pali, one of the Ashtavinayak. The 10-day celebration runs from Ganesh Chaturthi through Anant Chaturdashi, and on the final day the Kasba idol leads the city's immersion procession.
