Onam Tourism Week 2026

Kerala Tourism's flagship State-level Onam Week runs across 35 venues in Thiruvananthapuram, with Kanakakkunnu Palace as the hub, split into four themed zones (Business, Future, Art & Culture, Food). The Nishagandhi open-air auditorium hosts evening performances of Mudiyattam, Tholpavakoothu, Padayani, Arjunanritham and folklore fusion from Aug 25-30. A flag procession runs from Kovalam to Kanakakkunnu on Aug 23 for the flag-hoisting and city illumination switch-on; state inauguration follows Aug 24 with a special performance by Padma Bhushan dancer Shobana. The week closes with a grand Onam procession (Ghoshayathra) from Manaveeyam Veedhi to East Fort on Aug 30, with the Vice-President and Governor as chief guests.
