Saddula Bathukamma 2026 – Tank Bund Celebrations

Saddula Bathukamma, the grand finale of Telangana's nine-day flower festival, is marked by the state government with a mass public gathering at Tank Bund on the banks of Hussain Sagar. Thousands of women arrange tiered, jewel-toned Bathukamma flower stacks — built from Telangana's monsoon blooms — into circles, then dance around them clapping and singing traditional folk songs to the beat of dappu drummers, before immersing the flowers in the lake. In recent years the government has scaled the event into a citywide cultural showcase with a light show projected across Hussain Sagar; the 2025 edition set Guinness World Records for the largest biodegradable Bathukamma (63.11 feet) and the largest folk dance (1,354 dancers).
