Karthigai Deepam Theppotsavam - Arupadai Veedu Murugan Temple

Every Karthigai Deepam, the Arupadai Veedu Murugan Temple in Kalakshetra Colony, Besant Nagar - a Dravidian-style complex built between 1995 and 2002 that uniquely houses shrines to all six sacred Murugan abodes (Thiruparankundram, Tiruchendur, Palani, Swamimalai, Thiruthani and Pazhamudircholai) under one roof - lights thousands of oil lamps across its gopuram and courtyards and conducts a Theppam float festival, where the processional deities are taken out on a decorated float. The temple, run by the Arupadai Veedu Trust, also observes Skanda Shashti, Thai Pusam, Panguni Uttiram and Aadi Krittikai through the year with kavadi and paal kudam offerings.
