Kalachowki Mahaganpati Aagman 2026

A cherished neighbourhood Ganesh Chaturthi tradition in Kalachowki, one of central Mumbai's old mill-belt localities near Parel. The Kalachowki Division Public Festival Committee organizes the Mahaganpati's "Aagman" - the ceremonial arrival and installation of the idol - with a procession accompanied by dhol-tasha troupes, garlands and devotional singing as residents welcome the deity into the pandal at Siddhesh Dighol, Parel Workshop. Unlike the mega-pandals of Lalbaug a few streets away, this is a genuinely local celebration where the same families have organized the festivities for generations, reflecting Kalachowki's own deep Ganeshotsav roots and neighbourhood pride distinct from the bigger citywide mandals.
